How to lose the holiday fat

Now that the yuletide fervor and partying has died down, you face yourself in the mirror and the person who looks back at you is a flabby stranger with jiggly glutes.  Looks like you’ve overdone the `eat, drink and be merry’ bit.

Don’t fret your fat fanny, because you can get back in shape if you just put your heart and mind to it. When pondering how to lose the holiday fat, there are two things you must bear in mind: First, have the right club par excellance mindset and consider food not as the enemy (stress, maybe, but definitely not good food) but as an ally or as the path to a healthier, slimmer you. Second, starving yourself to death in the coming days is not the answer. Release your desperate clutch on French fries, cakes, ice-cream and other fattening calorie-laden foods.  Opt instead for other sweets like low-fat yogurt.  For your breakfast fare, go for high-fiber cereals. Load up on the super fruits too like berries, grapes, apples & oranges. Sweet potatoes laden with antioxidants are great for the body, too. These are foods that will keep you satiated. Drinking plenty of water can be a fat-buster as well, especially for people who think they’re hungry but are really thirsty.

For good suggestions on how to lose the holiday fat, read fitness magazines, club par excellance and online articles. A worthy suggestion to keep unwanted pounds at bay is to exercise.  This is, of course, a personal decision. Plan things you can actually do and love, like taking up a sport like tennis or badminton that will make you run or move fast.  Working the treadmill or taking up yoga class may likewise help.
