Benefits of studying with a group

Studying for an upcoming exam can become frustrating and a little boring. This is why many students choose to study in a group. But does it really help? That depends on what your study habits are. There are people who study and understand what they are studying much better if they work on it alone whilst there are those who study better when they are with a group. In fact, many students say that the interaction between people and the exchange of ideas actually help them to understand the lessons better as well as helping them memorize it better. Perhaps having another person to thrown around ideas with as well as to help you out in parts that you don’t understand really is beneficial to studying. It’s like having a classroom situation sans the professor and as such it becomes a more comfortable place to learn in and that is another benefit. Comfort = better and more efficient learning.

Another benefit is that studying with a group pretty much eliminates boredom and you get to study more than if you were left alone. Contrary to what most people think, having a group to study with can actually help one focus more as you are all doing the same thing and basically would be talking about the exact same thing. Not only would this keep you on track, it would also help you check if there was anything you missed or perhaps learn about new information that you wouldn’t have known about if it weren’t for your study group. After all, different people bring different perspectives as well as ideas and that would certainly help a lot.

Tips on getting involved in a social network community

The internet has opened all sorts of doors for people from all over the world. One of the many things that the internet has changed is the way we communicate with each others. These days talking to someone from across the pond can take just a few minutes and could cost next to nothing. Social networking sites such as MySpace, Friendster, Facebook, Multiply and Uber have also changed the way we make friends. People from China can easily make friends with people from London and in other far away places. However, such networking sites, despite the fact that they do make life a whole lot easier as well as learning about other cultures simpler, do come with their own sets of risks and disadvantages.

One of which is the fact that you are basically making yourself vulnerable to stalking though it might not seem like it. Basically, you are dealing with people whom you don’t know very well as and are pretty much strangers. Some might seem friendly but you wouldn’t really know. So a good reminder to always remember is to refrain from getting together, personally, with these unknown strangers whom you have met online or if you must meet with them, do it with a group of friends and in a public place. Also, refrain from giving out personal information like your home phone, mobile phone and even your school to strangers. Doing so would make you vulnerable and can lead to unsavory events. Keep this in mind if you decide to sign up on one.
