Are You Getting the Most Out of Your Discount Membership?

“I get great deals on my discount membership club card!” But are you really benefitting from your membership? Who would not be happy with saving a few bucks on automotive repairs? Consumer goods and services in this day and age can cost a lot. Put them all together and you’ll find that your expense line goes up month to month, year to year – it never does go down. When nearly all merchants and service providers that you need are put together by a discount membership club to help you save some bucks, you naturally would bite the bait. You go and get that card in anticipation of having extra cash saved because of the discounts. Before you go out and pay your membership dues, it would be a wise idea to look at what makes a good discount membership club.
Make sure you join a discount membership club that offers deals on products you actually buy or services that you actually use. If a membership club offers you 80% off on all purchases of chocolate and 10% off on all other purchases, and you happen to be allergic to chocolate, then that obviously is not a good deal for you. When you join a discount membership club it has to be one that gives you discounts on items or services you buy or avail of on a regular basis.
If you are a health buff, it would be a good idea to join a discount membership club to a fitness center. The discount club membership may give you free use of equipment, a complimentary health shake everytime you work out, free sports bag and 50% on health supplements. Fitness center discount membership clubs often charge a membership fee to entitle you to the freebies and discounts. But the discounts, and of course the benefit you get from using their equipment, more than makes up for the cost.
Vacation spots and resorts also offer discount membership clubs that may give you free stays with buffet breakfast for every so many number of nights and days booked with them. Those families or couples who go on vacations regularly could benefit from this type of a discount membership club. Big hotel and resort chains allow you to use your discount membership privileges in their hotels and resorts all over the world. This can give you a lot of savings, leaving more room in your budget for tours or specialty store shopping.
Big discounts are not what makes a good discount membership club. It is the actual savings that you get from the purchase of items and services that you buy or avail of even without the discount card that makes a good discount membership club. The bottomline is, did you have to spend more in purchasing items and services just to avail of the discounts?
